The deVision theme makes it dead easy to add an image gallery to your post or page entry without any plugin. The gallery thumbnails will be linked to the full size view that opens up in a neat lightbox.
There are different ways to add an image gallery to a post or a page in deVision.
Image Attachments
The easiest way to add images to the deVision post/page image gallery are image attachments. Just upload as many images as you like using the WordPress media uploader (batch upload possible). Then simply create a custom field called attachments and enter the value attachments. The gallery will automatically be displayed then.
Image Media IDs
If you want to add images that are not attached to the post or page or you simply want more control over the images displayed in the gallery, you can create a custom field called gallery and enter a comma-separated list of image media IDs. Please go to WP-Admin > Media, hover the media title and the ID will appear in your status bar.
Custom Gallery Title
By default the title of the image gallery will be Photo Gallery. But often you need a custom gallery title. Please create a custom field called gallery_title and enter your custom title in the value input field. If empty, the default title will be displayed.
Image Lightbox Captions
The deVision image gallery even supports image captions that you can see below the images in the lightbox. Just enter your custom text in the caption input field of the media image and it will be displayed in the lightbox.
