The home page content is up to you. It can be widgets (like the custom Features Box widgets in this case) or recent posts. You can display any static page or a list of pages (like product page).
Then entire content of the home page can be changed in seconds. The header slogan, text and button links and the featured content slider in the header. The main home page content can be recent posts, a static front page, a list of pages (page template Subpages) or WordPress default and deVison custom widgets.
Header Slogan and Text
Enter your header slogan that will be wrapped in H1 tags and the main eye-catcher. Add a short description about your company, product or anything you want to feature in this place. And optionally create until 2 header button links with custom link text and custom link (can be URL or post/page ID).
Home Page Widgets
The home page main content section is also a widget area. That means that you can use all the WordPress default and deVision custom widgets in this place. Here in the demo I used the Features Box custom widget that I created for deVision. This is an advanced text widget. You can add title, select an icon for the headline, add an image (URL or media ID), enter text and optionally display a button with custom link text and link (URL or post/page ID).
Recent Posts
By default the most recent posts will be displayed like a blog home page in the main content area. To control the number of the entries you would have to go to WP-Admin > Settings > Reading. Paging will be added automatically.
Static Front Page
Using the static front page feature of WordPress (WP-Admin > Settings > Reading) you can select any page to be the main content of your home page. You can select any page with the default page template but as well a Full Width page or a page sporting the Subpages page template (see below).
Static Front Page – Subpages
Applying the static front page feature to a static page that uses the deVison Subpages page template you can display a list of pages (e.g. products) on the home page. You create a main level page (no content necessary) and add page that you want to appear on the home as subpages.
