The jQuery image slider allows you to showcase your featured content as an eye catcher on the home page or as a slider gallery on portfolio pages.
1. Home Page
Through the theme options page you can select a slider category (posts or portfolio), a slider effect (fade, scroll horizontal, scroll vertical) and the slider pause (seconds each slide is displayed).
By default the images are featured images of the slider entries linked to the corresponding posts. By ticking the box you can generally remove the links of the slider images.
If you prefer an image-only slider gallery without having to create a post or portfolio item for each image, you can create a gallery by inserting a comma-separated list of image media IDs.
As said above by default the slider images will be linked to the corresponding entries. You can also directly open a jQuery lightbox when the user clicks on the image. Simply create a custom field called
slider_lightbox with the URL of the image to open in the lightbox in the value field.
Also the slider on portfolio item pages is a powerful tool to showcase your work. You can display the featured image, a custom image or a slider gallery.
By default the slider displays the featured image of your portfolio item. By creating a custom field called
slider_image with the value of your custom slider image in the value field you can overwrite this behaviour.
The portfolio slider also gives you the possibility to create a slider gallery with clickable images that open a full size view in a jQuery lightbox. Please provide a comma-separated list of image media IDs in a custom field called
