The deFacto WordPress theme comes with a useful set of custom widgets to let you easily customize your website contents via drag & drop.
The following widget areas are available:
- Home Top
- Home Page
- Home Sidebar
- Home Bottom
- Sidebar (general)
- Sidebar Category
- Sidebar Posts
- Sidebar Pages
- Sidebar Videos
The sidebar is a nested widget area. That means that you can define a general sidebar and another one for archive (e.g. categories), single posts, static pages and the home page. If you’re on a single post page and there is at least one widget active in the widget area Sidebar Posts, it will be displayed. If not, the general sidebar will show up.
The most powerful and important widget of this theme is the Category Teaser that is especially useful to change home page content to your special needs.
On the home page of this demo you can see this widget in action. Actually all the categories that you can see there (
Don't Miss) are created with this widget thanks to extensive yet easy-to-use widget settings.
- Title Layout
- General Layout (horizontal posts)
- Category (optionally most recent)
- Image Size (optionally no image)
- Post Meta (date)
- Number of Posts
- Number of Words in Excerpt
- Teaser Headlines
- Number of Teaser Headlines
Another useful widget is the Video Teaser that pulls the most recent videos of all existing videos or optionally of a video tag that you create. You can add this widget to the main content area, the sidebar and even to the footer. The video teaser widget settings are the following:
- Title Link (to video archive)
- Video Tag (optionally most recent)
- Number of Videos
- Video Title
Apart from the widgets mentioned above there is the deFacto Features Box that is an advanced text widget. You can add images to it, select the image size, set the link of the image (optionally to open in lightbox). And last but not least there is a custom Recent Articles widget that you can see in the sidebar of this page.
